I think I’ll try the canon tether as suggested earlier just in case its an issue with body then buy the card from my link if all is well. My card did come with my last camera so can't say if its not handling the higher MP due to being moody but never had an issue till I popped it in the 5d2 30 mb/se...

Thanks DQE first off are these your two cards used in your 5D2 or have you others? Have you used the 30mb/s without trouble at slow exposure (2 seconds) in live view mode? The Scandisk i was going to buy was 16gig UDMA 60mb/sec http://www.cameraworld.co.uk/ViewProdDetails.asp?prod_code=PON10B000201&...

Craig and Pau thanks for the suggestion of using the canon tethering software I’ll give it a go later and post back. The CF card works without issue in my 50D set up like for like as the 5D2 Really would be great to get a post from other 5D2 users that use the same card with or without these issues.

Craig yes I've disabled 'long exposure noise reduction' The problem i'm sure is with the slow shutter speed and my card, the connection made to the screen is just through the mini hdmi cable, same way you would connect a tv, and no tethering software to confuse things or pc. I've ran a few sets now ...

Thanks for the replies Nielsgeode: I only have a CF option Craig: I connect to a independant pc screen via mini HDMI directly through live view. It never happened till I started a set with my 50x objective, the shutter speed was set to 2 seconds and I was getting the busy screen 1 in every 20 or so ...

Canon 5D MKII ‘busy screen’

Hi has anyone had an issue with a busy screen while shooting a set. I have to open the battery compartment to bypass it as it not related to buffering. I updated to the newest firmware 1:2:1 and tried different batteries along with formatting the card. A search on line found this post. http://lighti...

Chris i think when the bellows are shut you can get to four screws behind the bayonet, i would guess that could be the access point for removal. I had thought about removing the restriction and gaining rotation clockwise and anti clockwise but not had enough time with them to warrant the strip down ...

Thanks Ray, Microcollector and Craig It could be that a little play inside the bayonet evolves after years of use, not too much of a concern unless the camera jiggles about, I’ve put a Nikon 8mm tube on mine and may fix the Nikon-Eos adaptor to it with a permanent weld but to be fair the movement th...

Thanks Craig This movement is on the bayonet for sure although there is also some rotation on the Nikon to Eos adaptor as you suggest and in excess of 1mm, I’ve reduced any vibration with this issue using some trusty foil tape, two layers has produces a much tighter fit. Craig are you saying the ‘ji...

Nikon PB-5 movement issues

After trying many bellows for studio stacking I began a search for the PB-5 bellows from Nikon, I felt these bellows looked to be the best design for high magnification work due to the solid track and fixed foot at each end. I found a set in Korea that I won on fleabay for a mere £50ish, on arrival ...

The Arduino UNO recommends 7V-12V input voltage, and no lower than 6V, so you can't run the Arduino UNO on 5V. But you could power it with 12, and then use its 5V supply for your motor. The Uno's 5V pin can apparently handle about 650mA. Nice one! i think i may try this option first and remove the ...

The motor i wanted to use is the screw type but its 5v and 2.4w, my stage has a tension spring that i can adjust to drop the tension and turning the meter requires little torque even when the spring is wound up. http://www.photomacrography.net/forum/userpix/2350_13122012206_1.jpg I've fitted a large...

Great post Rylee, I've been looking into building one of these over this winter, if i attach the motor direct to a digital micro meter do you think it would give me half micron steps?
