I really like these! In particular, I've never understood why circular pictures are so rare since they are the most natural shape. I also like the uncommon effect of wide-angle macro. Have you tried stacking to get more DoF?

I like your image Rayke. It looks good and stands out as more original amongst all the bugs that we often post on these forums.

One thing to consider is the type of batteries used. It seems to make a huge difference in the heat generated. This may be more of a factor in "normal" flashes like the 580EX or 430EX. I remember a test done by Syl Arena who tried all sorts of batteries to fire a flash repeatedly until the batteries...

Hi Rylee, At first I was also surprised how much retouching was necessary to get good images from deep stacks but I am getting used to it. I ended up choosing ZS and am using the techniques from the "advanced" video tutorial where I do my retouching from the pmax and two runs of dmap with different ...

Too close? You can never be too close!

Also, the stereo pair doesn't pop in 3D for me :-P

Joking aside, I like the detail the first one. The contrast of the "netting" of the wings is really nice.

Hi Jeffrey, I really like your pictures, in particular the one with the spider looking up. I don't have experience with flash brackets but I did have success with a 580EXII mounted in the camera hotshoe with a Gary Fong lightsphere attached. This moves the light forward by several inches, enough to ...

Allô Josué et bienvenue sur le forum! I also started my macro passion with a Canon 100mm lens and I wanted to be closer and closer and closer! What I decided to do was to become more comfortable with each magnification before moving closer. Here is my personal experience and opinions about learning ...

Hi hayath, Welcome aboard! I'm also fairly new with few posts after lurking for a while. If your camera has a "live view" mode it may help. I find it much easier to look at the screen to setup my shots and focus while shinning lights at the subject. It seems to get less dark than the viewfinder and ...
