Thanks Rik, I'll see if I can isolate it and have a better look. Came across these images during a Google search. http://ngm.nationalgeographic.com/2009/12/pollen/oeggerli-photography http://www.photoshelter.com/c/visualsunlimited/gallery/Dr-Martin-Oeggerli/G0000efeV6aAr0GA/ http://www.micronaut.ch/...

The Blob or Sunrise from Mercury

Wasn't sure where to put this.

Can anyone indicate what they think it may be - pollen, etc?

It was found in the hairy parts of a moth from Madagascar.

Ken,

The lighting and texture of the second image using the wide angle macro is beautiful.

The vignetting - has that been added in post production or is it characteristic of wide angle macro?

Here's another image. This one was taken with a Nikon M Plan 20/0.4 ELWD 210/0 using the same lighting and diffuser for previous image. Slices for this one were 2 micron. http://www.photomacrography.net/forum/userpix/138_sunset_moth_20x_1.jpg Canon 50D, Nikon 20X M Plan ELWD Microscope Objective @ 2...

Here is a 50% crop of an image using this light guide and a white cylindrical diffuser wrapped around the objective. 10 micron steps, normally for this objective I would use 5 micron. Hi David, newegg have that IPS monitor at $309.99. We can't buy those in Australia, otherwise I would buy one; though am yet to see one in action. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824002524 The box looks good; but only one HDD? Thanks for the input :) Rolyn Optics have replied. Shipping to Australia USD$90.00 via UPS + total of order ($82.00). As expected the shipping cost is too expensive. :( I'm attempting to add an extra 25mm to 50mm (approx.) to the end of a coned Beljan RMS to T-mount adapter. The reason for doing thi...

RMS Extender Tube / Fiber Optic Ringlight

Is anyone aware of a similar/alternative product to the Rolyn Optics Extender Tube, for use with RMS threads? I've emailed Rolyn for a shipping quote; but sometimes companies need to do a ton of paperwork when shipping something OS...so I expect the shipping cost to Australia may be rather high. htt...

Hi David, Let us know what you decide on. Are you looking at a 32 or 64 bit OS. Memory expansion and access capabilities are an important consideration. Also, need to carefully select monitor(s); probably better off just buying the 'box' and selecting the monitor separately, unless you intend to use...

Nice compact setup Rik.

One possible drawback I see is the limited course focus for roughing in the initial focus and various objective WD limitations/requirements when using large subjects such as the dandelion. Have you found this to be the case?

Beautiful midday lighting Sam!

It captures the detail of the Painted Lady and isolates the flower from the background nicely.
