http://www.photomacrography.net/forum/userpix/1041_image_19.jpg http://www.photomacrography.net/forum/userpix/1041_image_20.jpg I keep a few rotting half logs around my garden to encourage woodlice, millipedes and other creepy crawlies......here a woodlouse appears to be guarding the entrance to a ...

Could someone Positively ID this Beetle for me please?

http://www.photomacrography.net/forum/userpix/1041_HOUSE_BEETLE_forum_1.jpg This beetle was scuttling around on the tiled kitchen of our Victorian (1875) House....can any positively ID it for me please? The house was treated for woodworm infestation when we moved in back, in 1966....Hope it isn't a...

http://www.photomacrography.net/forum/userpix/1041_image_18.jpg Thank you, I much appreciate the feedback......just what I needed. My simple to construct DIY reflector/ diffuser works extremely well, more so since I replaced the kitchen foil with three pieces of plastic mirror. These increase the f...

UNDERWORLD WARRIOR

http://www.photomacrography.net/forum/userpix/1041_image_16.jpg I enjoy discovering what lies beneath the half logs I deliberately place in the darker corners of my tiny back garden. Invariably, it will be Woodlice, Millipedes , or, the odd, fast moving Centipede. Yesterday, it was the ubiquitous W...

REACHING FOR THE TOP

When hunting for Macro subjects I often look in dark-damp places for Woodlice, Millipedes and Centipedes etc. Late yesterday evening, whilst testing a modified DIY diffuser I happened to notice movements on our large Rosemary shrub.........on looking much closer I could see a fair number if Woodlice...

This is one of the best Raynox macro shots I have ever seen, I have one tucked away somewhere, I must put it on to my 70-300 to see what I can do, compared to using my Sony 2.8-100 macro lens.

Controlled approach

http://www.photomacrography.net/forum/userpix/1041_image_14.jpg I got lucky with my timing and focus the other evening, dozens of bees were working in and around our corn flowers. This one worked out just fine, after a whole series of missed shots containing only the flower but no bee. Taken using ...
